: *** It's official: Oklahoma vs. North Carolina on Aug. 25n

: NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - It's official: national champion Oklahoma
: will play North Carolina on Aug. 25 in the Hispanic Fund Football
: Classic. The schools issued news releases Saturday, nearly two
: days after the matchup had been made, and both coaches said they
: were happy to have an extra game to the schedule. For Oklahoma's
: Bob Stoops, it means a chance at possibly playing 14 games next
: season after going 13-0 in 2000 and winning the national title.
: "We're excited to play in a preseason game," Stoops said.
: "Certainly North Carolina has a very good tradition in football.
: We're anxious to get out there and play and it will be fun to
: play an extra game." The game, to be televised by ESPN at 7:45
: p.m. ET, will serve as John Bunting's coaching debut at North
: Carolina. The Tar Heels were 6-5 last season and return seven
: starters on offense and eight on defense. The Sooners should be
: heavily favored.
